I just saw this story that I posted on Facebook on November 21, 2014, or seven years ago today, when my son was 12:
“Jon Morgan is sick. He said he started feeling tired and hot in 6th period at school today, and that his 7th period teacher said he looked like he wasn’t feeling well. He’s running a fever and doesn’t have any energy.
“But I didn’t need a thermometer to tell me something was wrong. I knew it when he came home from school and, without prodding, said he would do his science homework. On a Friday.”
I added this later:
“By Sunday afternoon he was arguing passionately about why he should not have to do homework if it’s boring. I guess that means he’s all better.”
He was back at school on Monday, as usual.
