We did it! More accurately, Bob did. We’ve both been working on it all along, but I can’t claim credit for the final stretch of clearing out one of our storage units, since my husband went over there today and managed to empty the rest of the 10-by-10-foot room himself.
Over the months since we’ve started trying to get rid of one of our units, we have trashed a lot of the stuff, sent it to recycling, or donated it to charity. Some other items were brought home to find room for in the house, or stashed in another storage unit. I know, that is not optimal, but our goal was to clear out the first unit by this Friday, so we can stop paying rent on it. We’ll tackle the rest of the stuff next.
We really did not think we were going to meet our deadline. So we are relieved.
