
We drove down to Huntley Meadows wetlands this evening to search for wildlife.
We were hoping for raccoons. We didn’t see any, but we did spend time watching turtles, muskrats, and some Great Blue Herons. Unlike, say, the swiftly swimming muskrats, the herons hold themselves still for long stretches of time, as if posing for photos — which, I suppose, this one really was, albeit unintentionally.
