We are home! We left town Wednesday, way later than planned, and spent the weekend on an island in the middle of the Chesapeake Bay. In the past four days we faced a tropical storm, car trouble, shuttered restaurants, speeding golf carts, really bad wifi and cell service, and a deplorable lack of vegetables. We also spent time with my mother for the first time in months, rode on a ferry, chatted with friendly people, ate crab cakes and ice cream, explored a historic town, hunted for sea glass on the beach, and depended on the kindness of strangers.
I tried out my new camera on this trip for the first time, so there will be photos. But we just arrived home and I haven’t had time to copy and sort through those photos, so that will have to wait.
Stay tuned for details. And photos.
