This morning a little before noon, Joe Biden and Kamala Harris were inaugurated as President and Vice President of the United States. I cried when Harris took the the oath of office. It took more than 230 years, but finally we have a woman Vice President. And she’s both African-American and Asian-American.
And President Biden is only the second president who is Catholic.
After the last administration, I am so looking forward to having a team at the top — down to the cabinet and sub-cabinet levels — that looks like America.
They have a huge job ahead of them, righting the many, many wrongs that have damaged the country over the last four years and ruined our reputation abroad, not to mention killing 400,000 people in the past year. But for the first time in four years, I feel hopeful about the direction our nation is taking.
