I was surprised when the hutch I ordered for the desk in Jon Morgan’s dorm room arrived and was completely unfinished wood. It looked finished on the website! After a few moments of dismay, I decided it was not a problem. This way, we could paint it whatever color he wanted. We had various kinds of paint around to choose from. Jon Morgan selected this nice shade of blue, and we helped him paint it. Then we sealed it with a clear gloss coat, and it’s good to go.
Now it’s sitting in the living room amid all the piles and boxes of stuff set to fill his dorm room. He moves in this weekend. Let’s hope the university can keep Covid-19 at bay, so we don’t have to pack it all up again and bring him home a few weeks later.
