This week on one of our daily walks, we took the path at Dyke Marsh, a wetlands area on the edge of the Potomac River and spotted several eagles. Westerners are always surprised to hear that we have a bald eagle population right here in the Washington, D.C., area. This one was sitting in the nest, high in the treetops, while another bald eagle perched at the top of a dead tree nearby, maybe standing watch.
